Alright, so this talk of tower is all building up to something I haven’t seen before. What would it take to make a building that can reach space? In particular, orbit. Not a space elevator, but a space tower?
For starters, you would need to get to 2,000 km.
That planned Jeddah is 828 metered. So not even 1 km. That is a long way up to go. That other mega project that could only be dreamed of was 4,000 meters. Mount Everest is 8.8 km. So, my gosh. Space is just so so high, isn’t it?
How about this for back of the envelope math.
The base of the X—Seed is 6 km wide for a 4 km height. That would mean a 3,000 km base to go 2,000 km up. What does 3,000 square kilometers look like?
Well, Texas i 695,663 square kilometers. So less than half a percent of Texas would work for land.
So, maybe with unlimited money it’s possible? Just don’t want to imagine that thing crashing down. Not great.
