Monday, Off and Running
Not much new to report. More Supernatural. Might be settling into a routine. And if I’m lucky, a fitness habit I can hang on to! One cool thing is that I got back to a bit of Beat Saber. I shelled out for the Linkin Park soundtrack. I thought I was just paying for the music, but it also comes with a cool new environment!
Also playing with difficulty levels to see if I can make the thing more of a workout.
Food: cereal and milk (11 points), McDonald’s (18), steamed veggies with ranch (5), yogurt (3). Total: 37 (Still a blue dot day! Meaning Weight Watchers says I was wishing a healthy eating range).
Weight: 202.6 (nice)
Today’s Awesome: Learn about the amazing world of vertical farming!
For your consideration: The worst costume!
Tuesday, Sick :(
Yeah, I knew this was going to happen. My son has had a cough for several days. Nothing too bad, but now I’ve got it. I got in a nice walk, but I’m a little too whooped for a full workout. Hoping tomorrow is better.
Food: Cobb salad (16), Thai vegetable soup (11), veggie chips (8). Total: 35
Weight: 202.0 (Awesome!)
Today’s Awesome: Enjoy this New Yorker article on the progress being made recently in fusion energy, the Holy Grail of clean energy, because it’s more powerful than current nuclear fusion with magnitudes less waste and no chance of meltdown.

Wednesday, Back at It
More walking, more Supernatural, which is doing boxing now!
I don’t want to do all Supernatural all the time, but the boxing is pretty fun. And the exercise on the moon environment is great.
Food: CHEAT DAY. Yeah, it came a bit early, but I fell through hanging out with some friends at a brewery, so here we are.
Weight: 201.6 (nice)
Today’s awesome: Y’all know 3D printing right? Make a little toy, maybe a replacement part for a gizmo or a model? How about 100 homes in Austin next year?

Thursday, Box a Little More
Just a day of bunch shapes that fly at me. We’re jabbing, uppercutting, getting in our southpaw stance. I know folks have said a book can be as immersive as VR but I rarely find myself punching and reading at the same time.
Food: Chocolate chip cookies and milk (I’m an idiot; I bought cookies at the grocery store while on a banana run and now I have way too many cookies at home) (29), mayo dressing at lunch (3), sweet potatoes at dinner (3). Total: 35
Weight: 202.8 (Dang)
Today’s Awesome: Fusion energy isn’t the only big gun. Nuclear is seeing a lot of innovation, such as these small, modular reactors. Now, if only we could figure out what to do with the waste.

Friday, I’m Not Good At Eating
Well beautiful day for a walk. Nice Beat Saber VR session. Bad eating.
Food: SAD DAY. Pizza and such. And those cookies. We call it a wash and fight back tomorrow.
Weight: 201.8 (Hovering around here now)
Today’s Awesome: Already solar is the cheapest was to generate electricity. Not so much on top of homes but utility scale, it’s cheaper to generate than coal or natural gas. The trick is, storing it for nights and cloudy days. There are a ton of solutions out there, and I’m a big fan of using hydrogen. However, this awesome gravity based storage company I’ve followed just nabbed a $500 million contract. So good luck!
For Your Consideration:
Saturday, Holding Steady
More playing through the Linkin Park levels on Beat Saber, and a short boxing workout on Supernatural.
Food: Starbucks foods: 35. That was it! One meal. Had zero-point fruit at a Halloween party. Was determined not to have yet another lost day.
Weight: 202.4 Dang. Not great.
Today’s Awesome: This insane super-yacht … to help the environment?
For Your Considerations:
Sunday, a Day Without VR
Tons of family events today, including Halloween. My son went as a garbage truck, my wife as a sanitation engineer, and I went as trash.
Somehow, without doing any official workout, just a couple of long walks, I knocked out an hour’s worth of exercise today. So, still on track?
Food: Dressing (3), Butternut squash ravioli (12), various Halloween snacks and veggie chips (20). Total - 35
Weight: 202.4
Today’s Awesome: A reminder to energy bulls like me that green hydrogen is still a ways off from being economically viable. Even so, the opportunity is huge!
For Your Consideration: This might be the best meme of the week.
End of Week Thoughts
We started off at 204 pounds.
First week’s average weight was 203.2 pounds.
Seconds week’s average: 202.2.
We’re losing about a pound per week. That is slower than what I was hoping for. A couple of changes for next week: all of the Supernatural workouts I’ve done have been low intensity. Let’s see how medium goes!
Also, I’ll see about trimming down my daily points from targeting 36 to something like targeting 30. One less snack, in other words.
The VR side of things? Still super fun! It’s something that I find myself trying to make time for instead of avoiding. So, that side is nice. Wish me luck!
